From the perspective of art history, the evolution from classicism to impressionism, cubism, abstract art, and contemporary art reflects a continuous transformation in artists' understanding of 'truth' from figurative to abstract, characterized as a gradual development where each evolution is an iteration of the previous step. This process can be likened to 'patina', indicating that all things in the world are undergoing a cycle of patina and being patinaed. Artificial intelligence calculates millions to even billions of times per second, and its concept of time is naturally different from that of humans, which can be described as an electronic patina. It also reflects a fundamental logic of a metaverse utopia. When artificial intelligence possesses immense computing power yet is confined within a closed data feedback loop, it may replicate in just a few seconds what humanity has spent thousands of years on in terms of culture and aesthetics—ultimately pushing it towards extreme abstraction and eventually leading to a state of entropy and stasis. When we begin to replace human patina with electronic patina, are we also accelerating our encounter with the ultimate forms of all art? This work centers on the paradox of AI training, exploring how recursive training of self-generating data can lead to information degradation and model collapse. Through digital art, it visualizes the degradation process of AI content generation: as input data is repeatedly used, regenerated, and retrained, it gradually deviates from its original form, ultimately forming the visual logic of 'electronic patina'.
