KTK Design Award 2025

The "KTK Kan Tai-Keung Design Award · Worldwide Chinese Design Competition" is a graphic design contest for Chinese youth founded in 1999 by the renowned Chinese design master Mr. Kan Tai-Keung. This visual identity is designed to promote the "KTK Design Award 2025," whose annual themes are "Recomposition" and "CHAO" (潮/tide). The creative prototype of the main visual is the "Rubik's Cube." Each twist and recombination of the cube generates new graphical outcomes, echoing the theme of "Recomposition". By observing the cube mid-twist, the letters "KTK" are captured in a transitional state. This use of "process" to reveal the "result" metaphorically emphasizes the significance of the creative or recomposition process, as well as the value of observation, exploration, and experimentation. In dynamic applications, the typography shifts "logically" with the cube's rotation, creating intentionally "illogical" typographic misalignments. This contradiction becomes a distinctive feature, embodying a repeated exploration akin to "recomposition". Furthermore, the synchronized twisting of multiple cubes in a matrix forms a wave-like motion, resonating with the theme of "CHAO" (潮/tide).

「KTK靳埭强设计奖·全球华人设计比赛」是由中国知名设计大师靳埭强先生于1999年创办的一个面向华人青年的平面设计比赛。这是为“KTK靳埭强设计奖2025”设计的赛事推广视觉形象，2025年的年度赛事主题是“重构”和“潮”。 主视觉创意原型为“魔方”。“魔方”的每一次扭转重组，都会带来新的图形结果，以此呼应“重构”主题。观察魔方扭转一半的过程状态，捕捉得到“KTK”三个字母。利用“过程”呈现“结果”，既隐喻着重构或创作“过程”的重要性，也传达着观察、探索与尝试的重要性。动态上，文字编排随着魔方的转动发生“合理”的位移，带来“不合理”的排版错位，试图让这种矛盾成为特色，也是一种反复探索的“重构”过程。矩阵式多魔方的扭转形成浪潮般的滚动，以此呼应“潮”主题。
